Independent community petition
Privacy policy
Effective July 31, 2026
Save Ascension is an independent public-advocacy campaign. It is not operated or endorsed by Blizzard Entertainment, Xbox, Microsoft, Project Ascension, or any party to the Blizzard litigation.
Information we collect
To create a petition signature, we collect your typed name, email address, country or region, signature authorization, and the time of submission and verification. The optional survey collects only the multiple-choice answers you choose.
We do not collect free-form comments, BattleTags, game credentials, payment information, exact addresses, developer identities, or server information.
How the information is protected
Your email address is normalized and converted into a keyed, one-way hash for duplicate detection and removal matching. The plaintext address is used transiently to deliver verification or removal emails and is not stored in the petition database. Your typed name is encrypted before storage. Raw IP addresses are not retained; a keyed abuse-prevention hash is kept for up to seven days.
How we use information
- Verify that one person controls the submitted email address.
- Count one active, verified signature per email address.
- Measure aggregate country, subscriber-status, player-status, and purchase-intent results.
- Prevent duplicate, automated, or abusive submissions.
- Prepare aggregate evidence of community demand for Blizzard and Xbox.
What becomes public
The website publishes aggregate totals. It does not publish individual names, email addresses, or survey records. Any campaign report delivered outside the website will use aggregate results unless a separate disclosure is clearly explained and affirmatively authorized.
Service providers
Vercel hosts the website and request-processing functions. Neon hosts the encrypted petition database. Resend delivers verification and removal emails. These providers process limited information as needed to perform those services under their own security and privacy commitments.
Retention
Unverified submissions and expired verification material are scheduled for deletion after 30 days. Abuse-prevention events are retained for no more than seven days. Verified signatures remain while the campaign is active unless removed sooner. After the campaign concludes, individually linked petition records will be deleted or irreversibly anonymized within 90 days.
Your choices
A signature is counted only after email confirmation. You can remove a verified signature at any time through the signature-removal page. The removal process sends a one-time confirmation link to the same email address so another person cannot remove your support. After confirmation, the stored name, email hash, country, and survey answers are erased or replaced with unlinkable values.
Age requirement
The petition is limited to adults who are at least 18 and legally permitted to sign where they live.
Contact
Use the signature-removal page for deletion requests. Privacy questions may be sent to cody@frg.earth.
Changes
Material changes will be published here with a new effective date. Changes will not retroactively expand public disclosure of existing signer information.
